“I caught the photography bug, not at an early age but, when I captured a single image almost 18 years ago...

“It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like; it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.”

— Paul Caponigro

ABOUT
Me, Allan, the Photog...

This is the Photographer Allan Petersen behind a Nikon

Born in Denmark, Allan found his way to Phoenix by way of Canada, California and Dallas — and this one finally stuck. He picked up a camera eighteen years ago and never really put it down.

Since then he's chased the technical side hard, but what he's actually known for is the other half: getting people to relax in front of a lens they'd rather avoid. He considers that his superpower. A headshot isn't just a good picture — it's twenty minutes that don't feel like work. When he's not writing about himself in the third person, Allan volunteers at nursing homes shooting what he calls "Senior Citizen Glamour Photography." "The rewards are immense, and well worth the time."

Did I mention that I love what I do?
